Selective epoxidation of linear terminal olefins with metalloporphyrins under mild conditions

摘要: The epoxidation of linear terminal olefins with metalloporphyrins in the presence of dioxygen and isobutyraldehyde under ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure was investigated. The results show that all olefins could be smoothly converted to epoxides with high selectivities (70%-90%). For the metalloporphyrins with different catalytic activities within 1-hexene epoxidation in the order of Fe>Mn>Co, T( -Cl)PPFe(Ⅲ)Cl was most effective, with a 41.7% yield and 80.2% selectivity of 1,2-epoxyhexane. Various amounts of catalyst were investigated, and it was found that with only 10 ppm catalyst the yield of 1,2-epoxyhexane and turnover number (TON) could reach up to 41.9% and 41859, respectively.

Optimization of the main liming process for inulin crude extract from Jerusalem artichoke tubers

摘要: A three-stage homogenate extraction was used as a new method for inulin extraction from Jerusalem artichoke tubers. Compared with the results from conventional hot water extraction, the three-stage homogenate extraction gave higher yields and caused less degradation of the inulin. The inulin crude extract was then clarified by a carbonate-precipitation method, during which three variables — the quicklime mass, the reaction temperature and the reaction time were optimized for the main liming process to give the best clarification effect. A Plackett-Burman design, the path of steepest ascent method, a Box-Behnken design and response surface methodology (RSM) were employed in the experimental design. The optimal conditions for the main liming process were determined to be 12.0 g/L, 71.4°C and 8 min. The confirmatory tests proved that the best clarification efficiency (92.74%) was achieved at these conditions and this was approximately equal to the value predicted by the model.

Chaotic behavior of LNG after stratification in main stream region of storage tank

摘要: A study of the chaotic behavior of liquefied natural gas (LNG) after stratification in the main stream region of a storage tank was conducted. Based on non-linear dynamics, a 2-dimensional Rayleigh-Benard convection model was developed to simulate the convection, Lorenz equations of LNG convection were deduced from conservation equations, and the Runge-Kutta method was used to solve the equations. The results showed that when = 1.33, 106 < < 1470, chaos was obtained, which meant that the velocity field and the temperature field were highly unsteady. In addition, the influence of temperature and scale factor on the solutions and the corresponding range of parameters were studied. The results revealed that the chaos in LNG convection resulted from the interaction of buoyancy and viscid forces. A small quantity of heat impacting the storage tank would lead to a strong and unstable convection of LNG in the main stream region.

Accurate quantification of 3′-terminal 2′-O-methylated small RNAs by utilizing oxidative deep sequencing

摘要: The continuing discoveries of novel classes of RNA modifications in various organisms have raised the need for improving sensitive, convenient, and reliable methods for quantifying RNA modifications. In particular, a subset of small RNAs, including microRNAs (miRNAs) and Piwi-interacting RNAs (piRNAs), are modified at their 3′-terminal nucleotides via 2′-O-methylation. However, quantifying the levels of these small RNAs is difficult because 2′-O-methylation at the RNA 3′-terminus inhibits the activity of polyadenylate polymerase and T4 RNA ligase. These two enzymes are indispensable for RNA labeling or ligation in conventional miRNA quantification assays. In this study, we profiled 3′-terminal 2′-O-methyl plant miRNAs in the livers of rice-fed mice by oxidative deep sequencing and detected increasing amounts of plant miRNAs with prolonged oxidation treatment. We further compared the efficiency of stem-loop and poly(A)-tailed RT-qPCR in quantifying plant miRNAs in animal tissues and identified stem-loop RT-qPCR as the only suitable approach. Likewise, stem-loop RT-qPCR was superior to poly(A)-tailed RT-qPCR in quantifying 3′-terminal 2′-O-methyl piRNAs in human seminal plasma. In summary, this study established a standard procedure for quantifying the levels of 3′-terminal 2′-O-methyl miRNAs in plants and piRNAs. Accurate measurement of the 3′-terminal 2′-O-methylation of small RNAs has profound implications for understanding their pathophysiologic roles in biological systems.

Drug-coated balloon-only strategy for percutaneous coronary intervention of left main coronary artery

摘要: This retrospective single-center registry study included all consecutive patients who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for a de novo left main coronary artery lesion using drug coated-balloon (DCB)-only strategy between August 2011 and December 2018. To best of our knowledge, no previous studies of DCB-only strategy of treating de novo left main coronary artery disease, exist. The primary endpoint was major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs) including cardiac death, non-fatal myocardial infarction, and target lesion revascularization (TLR). The cohort was divided into two groups depending on weather the lesion preparation was done according to the international consensus group guidelines. Sixty-six patients (mean age 75±8.6, 72% male), 52% of whom had acute coronary syndrome, underwent left main PCI with the DCB-only strategy. No procedural mortality and no acute closures of the treated left main occurred. At 12 months, MACE and TLR occurred in 24% and 6% of the whole cohort, respectively. If the lesion preparation was done according to the guidelines, the MACE and TLR rates were 21.2% and 1.9%. Left main PCI with the DCB only-strategy is safe leading to acceptable MACE and low TLR rates at one year, if the lesion preparation is done according to the guidelines.

The main achievements in the past 24 years and the prospects of mechanism research in China

摘要: Since 1982, the symposiums on mechanism in China has been held fifteen times. In the past 24 years, Chinese mechanism has experienced a phenomenal development. Generally, fundamental research on traditional mechanisms is enhanced; mechanism and creative design of products are closely combined; modern mechanism with advanced and new technology is opened up; and mechanism is promoted to modernization. These are manifested in the following aspects: theory research on analysis and synthesis of traditional mechanism is deeply developed; computer-aided design on mechanisms is realized vigorously; conceptual design of mechanism system and mechanical products is energetically pushed; research on robot mechanisms and its industrial application is deeply developed; research on analysis and synthesis of controllable mechanisms and compliant mechanisms are energetically carried out; research on the dynamics of mechanisms and machines is vigorously developed; and reformation of teaching contents and system of mechanism is energetically carried out. Through the above-mentioned aspects of theory research and practical application, the theoretical and academic levels of Chinese mechanism can be considered at the advanced international level. However, there are not many original and breakthrough research achievements of fundamental research in China. In the meantime, there is a larger gap in the aspect of practical application of mechanism in the country compared with advanced countries in the world.

Construction technology on pile foundation of No. 6 main pier in Dashengguan Yangtze Bridge

摘要: Based on pile foundation construction of No. 6 main pier, deep mudstone geological foundation and deep-water construction in Nanjing-Dashengguan Yangtze Bridge, the method of super-large-diameter bored pile in deep water is studied. The spread drill, application of PHP mud, and choice of machine are solved by adopting two machines of KTY4000 and KPG300A. Besides, the airlift reversing circulation is selected in slag discharge. The results show that this method can ensure successfully the construction of pier foundation to satisfy the demands of codes.

摘要: Abstract • A way for overflow control based on on-site coagulation/flocculation was proposed. • Coagulant and flocculant dose were optimized based on pollutant removal performance. • Settling time of 5 min is enough in a proper transmission distance. • Fast removal of particulate pollutants could be achieved under varied flow. The pollution caused by wet weather overflow in urban drainage systems is a main factor causing blackening an odorization of urban rivers. The conventional overflow treatment based on coagulation/flocculation in terminal drainage systems requires relatively large space and long retention time demand that makes it not applicable in crowded urban drainage systems or under heavy rains. On-site coagulation/flocculation in terminal drainage pipes was proposed in this study which was aimed to transfer the coagulation/flocculation process to the inside of pipes at the terminal drainage system to save space and reduce the retention time of the coagulation/flocculation process. The optimized dose of chemicals was studied first which was 80 mg/L of coagulant and 0.8 mg/L of flocculant. Settling for only 5 min can remove most of the pollutants at 406.5 m of transmission distance. In addition, the relation of wet weather overflow rate and concentration of pollution load on the on-site coagulation/flocculation process was investigated, which indicated that high removal of pollutant was gained at a large range of flow velocity and pollutant concentration. Finally, the study confirmed electric neutralization, bridging, and net capture as the major mechanisms in this process, and further optimization was proposed. The proposed process can reduce much turbidity, chemical oxygen demand, and total phosphorous, but hardly remove soluble ammonia and organics. This work provides scientific guidance to address wet weather overflow in terminal drainage pipes.
